Do you believe in fairies?
Well, I do. When my daughter asked to be a flower fairy for Halloween this year, I was happy to make this costume for her. I had a lot of fun with it...especially the little hat! The boys are just putting together simple costumes this year, with things that they already have. It won't be long before they've outgrown the tradition. That makes me a little sad. We've had so much fun over the years. The kids would start thinking about costumes months before Halloween, changing their minds many times before making their ultimate choice. My favorites are the years they have chosen a theme and dressed up together...The boys have been Tigger & Pooh and Buzz & Woody. The first year that all three went out, they were firemen and their dalmatian dog. There was the Star Wars year...Darth Maul, Obi Wan Kenobi and Queen Amidala. Two years in a row, they were X-Men characters. The boys have also been Legolas & Aragorn from Lord of the Rings. I have so much fun making their costumes, adding all of the accessories, and making them as close to the originals as possible. They let their imaginations run wild at Halloween, taking mine right along with them. Yes, I will definitely miss this.

Sunday at Scrapbook Cafe
Today was my first class at Scrapbook Cafe. It was small; only two people, but that was fine with me. I needed to get my feet wet with this one and build my confidence. The ladies seemed very happy with their projects and I learned a lot about preparing for the next class. I'll be doing a pop-up card class next month, which should be a lot of fun. I love having this creative outlet to look forward to and a lovely group of people at the store to get to know.

Fall?
Okay, what happened to the beautiful fall weather we were having? I don't like this 40 degrees and raining. Too much like winter already. I want the cool, crisp sweater weather that goes with walking in the fallen leaves and admiring the gorgeous colors of the leaves that remain. Autumn is, and always has been, my favorite season. As a child, fall meant new shoes for school, new supplies, and a new start. I still feel that way when I see my kids go off to school. A new start for them means a new start for me as well, as I start getting ready for all of the upcoming holidays. I hope that this nasty weather is only temporary and I can get back out there and enjoy the beauty of the season. Tonight I get to see many of my old friends from "City Lites", a revue I worked on from 1985-1988. It will be so nice to see everyone and catch up on what everyone has been doing. It's amazing how quickly time flies by!

Welcoming Fall
I love this time of year. It seems the autumn weather lasts for so short a time now. Yesterday, I took the kids to our favorite pumpkin patch. It was slightly cool and sunny...perfect fall weather. We went through the corn maze and the kids went through the haunted house. A good day. Also, just finished my second design team project for Scrapbook Cafe. Lots of fun!

Getting Started
I can't believe that I'm actually doing this. I never thought that I would have a blog. I'm not actually all that into computers. I thought that this would be a good way to organize my thoughts and, hopefully, get more in touch with my friends out there. So, here I go. I'll try to stay up to date.
